Physical Object Description:

Speckled grey stoneware, thrown, shaped, and incised, the interior, deorative band on the exterior, and cover covered with translucent, crazed, greenish-grey glaze, the lower part of the jar with dark-brown iron-glaze; base and underside of the flange of the cover, unglazed. Ovoid with four angles at the shoulder, a projecting band above, and an everted, flat-topped rim domed cover with a swirl in the centre, and a flanged edge. Below the rim of the jar there is a double row of tooled triangles creating a border pattern.
