Curators Day at Frieze (11 October 2024)
Friday 11 October
Frieze Art Fair & Valeria Napoleone Art Collection
11 am – 6:30 pm
Please note this event is for CAS Museum Members only. Members are eligible for a travel bursary fund.
We will begin the day at 11 am, with a 45 min guided tour of outstanding booths and artworks at Frieze London. This will be followed by individual viewing, lunch, and the possibility of visiting Frieze Masters and/or Frieze Sculpture Park.
We have also programmed a special afternoon in Kensington, to visit the house of the philanthropist and trustee of CAS Valeria Napoleone. We will bring together curators from institutions who previously acquired an artwork through our Valeria Napoleone XX Contemporary Art Society scheme, who will participate in a panel discussion about the importance of these artworks within the museums and their public.
Additionally, we will see Valeria's collection and learn about her experience supporting gender equality and the representation of women within the private and public art frameworks. This will be an opportunity for our museum members to get together, exchange ideas, and discover new artistic proposals.
We are offering bursaries to cover travel to London as well as free access to Frieze London and Frieze Masters. To apply for a bursary please fill in the form here. Deadline to apply: Monday 16 September before 10 am
