The Contemporary Art Society was appointed by Design for London and Newham Council to curate artworks to enhance the public realm improvements on Stratford High Street.
A new parapet for Groves Bridge was designed by Minx Creative – a locally based studio rapidly gaining a reputation for contemporary graphic design.
Featuring tree species from the six main continents, the laser-cut steel facing represents the diverse communities of Newham.
Renowned designers Timorous Beasties have also created a superb design for a glass wall in the new Stratford High Street DLR Station. Their characteristic use of historical patterning features local plant species that will be familiar to users of the DLR.
