Michele Fletcher

Michele Fletcher’s current work is concerned with a contemporary exploration of the landscape genre, with a focus on a loss of human connection to the natural world – and how this is framed through alterity and subjectivity.

She is interested in how a direct experience can be mediated through drawing, photography and memory and in turn interpreted, reinvented and embodied in the physicality of painting.

Michele Fletcher was featured in Contemporary Art Society’s ARTfutures 2007 held at Bloomberg SPACE, London and was recently awarded joint first prize in FRINGEMK Painting Prize for 2010. Fletcher graduated from MA Chelsea College of Art in 2006.
