our work with public collections / Research & Policy

The National Programmes works on the development of research for policy and evaluation relating to public collections.

Currently working with Arts Council England and the Scottish Arts Council on their Strategies for Collections. Over the next two years we will be developing a networked research bid that will generate new research and knowledge for the sector. The research will be transferred through the programme of the National Network, so made available to all our members.

The aim:

•  Strengthening the resources of the sector
•  Bringing new aspiration
•  Developing the workforce now and for the future
•  Advocating and establising greater visibility for contemporary collections in the UK
