As part of our Rotate programme of temporary displays at our offices in Emerald Street, the Contemporary Art Society is delighted to announce its forthcoming exhibition in a new partnership with Shortlist Media.
Rotate is a strand of our programming that provides a platform for the work of independent and artist-run spaces and galleries working outside London by inviting them to exhibit works by the artists they are working with in our central London office spaces.
The first of these collaborations between the Contemporary Art Society and Shortlist Media will profile Workplace Gallery from Gateshead and will be installed at both offices, which are based opposite each other in Emerald Street, from 24 May – 2 September 2011.
Workplace Gallery was founded in 2002 by artists Paul Moss and Miles Thurlow; in 2005 Workplace Gallery opened in Gateshead town centre and now represents a portfolio of emerging and established artists through the gallery programme, curatorial projects and international art fairs.
For Rotate Workplace Gallery will present a selected exhibition of work by represented artists including Eric Bainbridge, Darren Banks, Sophie Lisa Beresford, Catherine Bertola, Cath Campbell, Marcus Coates, Jo Coupe, Laura Lancaster, Richard Rigg, Cecilia Stenbom, and Matt Stokes.
