Peter J. Evans is a Newcastle-based artist whose practice spans installation, drawing, objects and performance. Fascinated by systems and patterns, his work explores how such structures can be found even in supposed chaos. Recent solo exhibitions have included Spacex, Exeter; Workplace Gallery, Gateshead and Seventeen, London.
Winner of the 2006 Beck’s Futures Prize, Matt Stokes has lived, studied and worked in the North East since 1993. His practice stems from a long-term inquiry into subcultures, particularly musical ones. He is interested in the way music provides a sense of collectivity, acting as a catalyst for particular groups to form, shaping and influencing people’s lives and identities.
Join us for this opportunity to meet the artists in their studios and hear about their latest work.
This is a North East Members event. For further details of this event and Contemporary Art Society North West Membership please contact Rebecca Morrill, Head of Collector Development, North East - rebecca@contemporaryartsociety.org
