20th March — 20th March 2010
The Hepworth Wakefield, Wakefield, address given on rsvp
A hard-hat tour of what will be one of the most notable arts buildings in the country when it opens in 2011.
Designed by architect David Chipperfield, this will be a fitting home for the work of one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. Barbara Hepworth was born and raised in Wakefield and this remarkable new museum will show a collection of her work never seen before. The Hepworth Wakefield venue will also stage a programme of temporary exhibitions featuring contemporary and historical work.
Simon Wallis, Director, and Frances Guy, Head of Collections and Exhibitions, will lead a behind-the-scenes tour of the site and reveal more about the exciting plans for this major new project.
A full schedule will be sent out on RSVP.
This is a North West Members event. For further details of this event and Contemporary Art Society North West Membership please contact Mark Doyle, Head of Collector Development, North West - mark@contemporaryartsociety.org
