3rd March — 3rd March 2010
Tate Liverpool, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4BB
From the influences of African art on the Modernist forms of artists like Picasso, to the work of contemporary artists such as Kara Walker, Ellen Gallagher and Chris Ofili, Afro-Modern maps out the visual and cultural hybridity in modern and contemporary art which has arisen from the journeys made by people of Black African descent.
Members are invited to join Peter Gorschlüter, Head of Exhibitions and Displays at Tate Liverpool and co-Curator of Afro-Modern, for a private tour of the exhibition.
This is a North West Members event. For further details of this event and Contemporary Art Society North West Membership please contact Mark Doyle, Head of Collector Development, North West - mark@contemporaryartsociety.org
