The Contemporary Art Society is pleased to present The Artist’s Table – Alexandre da Cunha.
This bespoke artist curated event will take place on a date to be confirmed.
Hosted by Anita Zabludowicz.
Alexandre da Cunha
b. 1969, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lives and works in London.
Following on from Arte Povera and his Latin American predecessors, da Cunha examines the position of his Brazilian homeland in relation to the West. Taking everyday objects and transforming them with simple rearrangements, da Cunha opens up reflection on their cultural and social connotations while engaging with the local and international histories of abstraction and minimalism.
His work is currently on show in the Zabludowicz Collection: 20 Years Exhibition, Zabludowicz Collection, London and Pangaea II: New Art from Africa and Latin America, Saatchi Gallery, London. Upcoming projects include the fifth MCA Chicago Plaza Project July 2015, and he will have a solo exhibition opening at Thomas Dane Gallery on 21 January 2016.
This is a fundraising event, all proceeds directly benefit the charitable mission of the Contemporary Art Society.
