CAS Consultancy provides a full commissioning service for projects large and small – from landmark temporary and permanent public art to spectacular interior and architectural interventions.
Our role is to ensure that the best contemporary art is selected for the project, with a respect for the natural and built environment.
A bespoke work of contemporary art can help promote a company or development as iconic and outstanding, creating a distinctive sense of place in which to live, work and visit. We provide advisement from developing the artists' brief, selection of artists, design competitions, planning and project management through to installation and promotion of the completed artwork.
CAS Consultancy has extensive experience in working with architects, designers, local authorities and property developers to develop public art and cultural strategies that enhance the experience of place and bring the transformative power of art into the built environment.
As part of the relocation of the company headquarters to BUPA House in Bloomsbury, BUPA appointed CAS to curate and manage a series of contemporary art commissions for the new spaces.
BAA appointed CAS Consultancy in 2005 to commission an internationally renowned artist for a feature public sculpture at the new Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Following an extensive selection process Turner Prize-nominated artists Langlands & Bell were awarded the commission and we worked with them from design to completion to install a spectacular artwork.
Pictet commissioned up-and-coming artist Diann Bauer to create a site-specific drawing for a curved wall space.
The Economist Building provides the only outdoor public exhibition space in Central London committed to a continuous programme of sculptural works by contemporary artists.
CAS Consultancy created a permanent contemporary art journey through the nine floors of Seagram’s new headquarters at the iconic Ark building.
The Contemporary Art Society has been working with the LSE to
commission two contemporary artworks for the New Academic Building in
London; a suspended work for the atrium and a wall-based sculpture for
the exterior of the building facing Kinsgsway.
Joy Gerrard’s suspended work was completed and officially launched by
Her Majesty the Queen in November 2008. The artwork for the exterior
will be made by Richard Wilson and is due for completion early in 2009.
