Since its foundation in 1910 the Contemporary Art Society has had a major impact on the promotion, development and survival of contemporary collections throughout the UK.
This exhibition brings together just some of the modern treasures gifted by the CAS to Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery since 1944. The show includes paintings by Francis Bacon, William Scott and John Piper, alongside more recent additions by Ian Davenport, Tony Bevan, Lubaina Himid and many others.
