statement

Coming from an agricultural background where machines and animals collide I am fascinated by the hybridization that occurs in the organization of our modern consumer world. Scientific advances into new ways of engineering and growing meat and crops form a Pandora’s box for the imagination. From the seed banks, laboratories, farms and factories, the resultant production line sheds a light on to the once unconsidered processes. Seed banks explode into life aided by the multi-breasted Diana, the goddess of fertility. Pods are plucked from the arena drawn to the mother, as we look down upon the action. One is invited to travel through the belly of the machine, experiencing the action of the production line. In the process of making invitro meat, petri dishes become contorted by the growth and stretch of muscle tissue which must be vigorously exercised to retain its structure. It is not always pretty.
