Andrew Bick was featured in Contemporary Art Society's ARTfutures 2005 at Bloomberg SPACE.
Born 1963 in Coleford, Gloucestershire, Bick lives and works in London and is represented by Hales Gallery, London and Gallery Von Bartha, Basel.
Andrew is Senior Lecturer at Kingston University Department of Fine Art and The University of Gloucestershire, visiting Lecturer Central Saint Martins School of Art MFA.
Andrew received his BA in painting from the University of Reading, his MA in painting from the Chelsea School of Art, and has shown extensively in Europe and the US, most recently at Rubicon Gallery Dublin in April 2008 and Von Bartha Garage, Basel in September/October 2008.
Curated projects include 'Construction and its Shadow’ a forthcoming project for Leeds City Art Gallery as a result of a Henry Moore Institute Research Fellowship on British Construction, ‘The Kingston Turnpike’, 2006, for Turnpike Gallery, Leigh and The Stanley Picker Gallery, ‘Sight Mapping’, 2003, for Sala Rekalde, Bilbao, GoMA Glasgow and Konsthallen Bohuslans Museum, Uddevalla, Sweden.
He was selected for the NatWest Art Prize (1999), Jerwood Painting Prize (1998), John Moores 20, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (1997). His drawings are in the British Museum collection (2001 and 2005) and he is also a producer of, and collaborator on artist’s books (col.: Victoria and Albert Museum, NY Public Library, Yale Center for British Art. The British Library). Commissions have been undertaken on buildings with Lifshutz Davidson Sandilands, John McAslan + Partners, ORMS and John Robertson Architects.
