Guy Allott’s paintings and sculptures present a fantastical merging of the philosophies of science and culture, offering a critique of historic social beliefs alongside an investigation into the contemporary. Recently he has been working on a new series of woodcuts.
Guy Allott studied at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins, London between 1996 and 2002.
He has exhibited widely in the UK, France, Italy, America and Germany. Recent exhibitions include Aliens, Grey Area, Paris; Picaresque, Hå gamle prestagard, Nærbø, Norway; Magic & Loss, Kunstverein Sprinhornhof; Belvedere, Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandsek; Recent Wrecks, Reception, Berlin; John Moores 24, at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; the East End Academy, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London; Stardust ou la derniere frontiere, MAC/VAL, Paris and the Library of Babel at the Zabludowicz Collection.
